If you need a slightly larger screen for Travel but not necessarily an expensive one
iPads, Tablets, and eBook readers from EBay
may be your place to look. After all you won't be full time on the network, you may not want to carry bigger heavy devices, buy your smart phone may be too small for some purposes. Furthermore you may be worried about fancy equipment making you the obvious target, or just that things get lost, especially mid sized gadgets, while traveling. Smaller maybe second hand items may feel less of a burden on the road.

Here's a cool gadget that doesn't quite exist yet, but see it on Kickstarter trying to get made
Geode for Icache plans to convert all your physical credit cards, loyalty cards, and membership cards into digital information. To use the cards, you can transfer the card information to the provided Geode card temporarily. Flick to activate the card, say a credit card, then swipe it through the terminal as normal.
